What is online notarization?
With online notarization (German: digitale Beglaubigung), a licensed German notary confirms the authenticity of your document, copy or signature – entirely online and without a trip to a public office. The legal basis is § 40a BeurkG together with the eIDAS Regulation; the qualified electronic signature (QES) is legally equivalent to a handwritten signature under Article 25 eIDAS.
