What e-commerce adds

  • § 18j UStG

    OSS procedure

If you sell more than €10,000 a year to consumers in other EU countries, their VAT applies. You report it in one go via the One-Stop-Shop.

  • § 13b UStG

    Reverse charge

For advertising with Google or Meta from Ireland, you owe the VAT yourself. The firm books it correctly.

  • § 25e UStG

    Marketplaces

Marketplaces such as Amazon are liable for their sellers' VAT and therefore ask for your VAT ID.

  • Payment

    Payment providers

PayPal, Stripe or Klarna pay out in batches. Every payout is matched with the individual orders.

  • Integrations

    Shop connected

Shopify, Shopware, Plentymarkets or Afterbuy send sales straight to DATEV, without typing them in.

  • § 240 HGB

    Stocktaking

At the end of the year, you take stock of your inventory. It goes straight into the balance sheet.

Frequently asked questions about e-commerce bookkeeping

How do I start the bookkeeping for my shop?

With your tax registration: via ELSTER you apply for a tax number and a VAT ID. As an online retailer, you need both in any case. The firm then sets up your bookkeeping with you during onboarding.

Are the annual accounts included in the price?

Yes. You pay monthly, and the annual accounts are included. So there is no big bill all at once.

Is the number of bookings limited?

No. The number of bookings is unlimited, and the price depends on your annual revenue. If your revenue grows, you switch to the matching package.

How much does onboarding cost?

Onboarding costs a one-off €149 plus VAT, including setup of DATEV and the integrations.

Are the OSS procedure and filings abroad included?

The OSS procedure and filings abroad cost an extra €60 plus VAT a month, if you need them.

Which shop systems can be connected?

Shopify, Shopware, Plentymarkets and Afterbuy, among others.

Who does my bookkeeping?
