Vinea Ventures is on a mission to preserve Germany’s industrial backbone. As thousands of highly specialized Mittelstand manufacturers face succession challenges, valuable engineering expertise and production capabilities are at risk of disappearing. The company acquires these businesses, modernizes them with AI, and connects them through a shared operating platform.
We spoke with founder Prashant Soni, whose 15-year career spans manufacturing, supply chain, and enterprise technology across Germany, Spain, and India, about safeguarding engineering excellence, building an AI-native manufacturing platform, and why founders should stay true to their long-term vision.

What does your company do, Prashant?
Vinea Ventures acquires succession-affected German precision component manufacturers, modernizes them withour AI operating system, and connects them into an on-demand precision manufacturing platform. We’re preserving critical industrial capabilities that Germany is at risk of losing while scaling them for the future.
What is your mission, and what problem are you aiming to solve?
Germany’s precision manufacturing landscape is fragmented and slowly disappearing as business owners retire without successors. Thousands of highly specialized component manufacturers risk being lost forever. Our mission is to preserve these capabilities before they disappear and rebuild them as an AI-native precision manufacturing platform. We believe Europe’s industrial future depends on protecting this engineering expertise while making it more efficient, connected and competitive.

Who is behind Vinea Ventures?
Vinea Ventures began with a single acquisition. We acquired and successfully turned around a niche advanced manufacturing company in Munich, transforming it from near liquidation to strong profitability in less than a year. That experience revealed a much larger opportunity. Across Germany, countless outstanding manufacturing businesses produce highly specialized components for blue-chip customers and possess decades of engineering know-how. Yet many are steadily losing expertise simply because their founders have no succession plan.
While larger companies often have institutional buyers, smaller and mid-sized manufacturers are frequently overlooked. At the same time, demand for advanced precision components in industries such as aerospace, energy, autonomy and photonics continues to grow rapidly. We founded Vinea Ventures to preserve these businesses and build the precision manufacturing platform of the future. Our goal is to safeguard German manufacturing expertise while strengthening Europe’s industrial resilience. Our founding team combines extensive experience building autonomous platforms for supply-chain businesses with hands-on expertise in precision manufacturing.

What are the biggest challenges your company is currently facing?
Our current focus is on two priorities. First, we are building a strong pipeline of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies that contribute valuable engineering, design and production expertise to the platform. Second, we are creating financing structures that align the interests of business owners, operators and investors, ensuring everyone benefits from long-term value creation rather than short-term gains.
What was the biggest challenge during your startup journey?
In the beginning, we pursued a much broader succession-as-a-service concept. The most difficult decision was narrowing our focus exclusively to precision manufacturing. Choosing depth over speed required real conviction. It also meant turning away capital that would have been easier to raise in favor of patient investors who shared our long-term vision. Looking back, that decision became one of the most important foundations for everything we’ve built since.

What advice would you give to other founders?
Believe in what you’re building and structure your company around that conviction. Don’t allow yourself to be distracted by whatever happens to gain immediate traction. Market traction often tells you what is easiest to sell today—not what is truly worth building over the long term.
How has firma.de supported you throughout your entrepreneurial journey?
We’re building a multi-entity holding structure in a market that was still relatively new to us as founders. firma.de became our shortcut through German company formation and ongoing compliance. In a country where bureaucracy can easily consume months, that speed made a real difference and allowed us to focus on building our business instead of navigating administrative processes.
